Case 4- Angioplasty for high grade right internal
carotid
Case History
A 64 year old male with recurrent episodes of left body
hemiparesis and hemiparesthesias. Initial arteriogram
indicates high grade stenosis of the petrous portion
of the right internal carotid artery at the skull base
intracranially, with a tandem moderate stenosis just
above. The patient underwent angioplasty of the high
grade right internal carotid artery stenosis with resolution
of normal flow in the right hemisphere. Following the
procedure the patient's symptoms were completely resolved.
