Case 2 - Intra-arterial t-PA

Case History
A 77 year old female with sudden onset of left-sided neglect and dense left hemiplegia. Initial arteriogram shows total occlusion of the right internal carotid artery. The patient received a total of 20 mg of intra-arterial t-PA during a two hour interval. Follow-up arteriogram illustrates total resolution of the clot with reconstitution of normal flow throughout the right hemisphere. The patient had marked improvement in neurologic symptoms following the procedure.
